The bill creates a new Abraham Accords Office within the FDA, to be located in one of the countries that signed the Abraham Accords (Israel, UAE, Bahrain, Morocco, and Sudan). The office will have FDA staff assigned to it and will provide technical assistance to regulatory partners in those countries on drug and medical product manufacturing standards, and facilitate information-sharing between the FDA and companies in those countries. The Secretary of Health and Human Services must report to Congress within 3 years on the office's progress.
This establishes a permanent institutional presence for FDA cooperation with Abraham Accords signatories, potentially normalizing and deepening US regulatory integration with Israel and other signatories.
