The bill directs the State Department to assess within 180 days whether any Latin American country qualifies as a "terrorist sanctuary" based on Hezbollah's presence and operations there. If a country is designated, the President can revoke visas and bar entry to government officials from that jurisdiction unless they take verifiable steps to stop terrorist activity. The bill also expresses congressional intent that the State Department pressure Latin American governments to designate Hezbollah as a terrorist organization and pursue sanctions against entities cooperating with it.
